Navigation

For those unfamiliar with the area, the approach is only recommended during the day. The approach is via the partly buoyed fairway. You should keep well clear of the shallow shore at Agernæs.

Berths

Guests can moor in free spaces (by arrangement with the harbour master). The eastern jetty of the harbor is only suitable for shallow-draft boats. The water depth is otherwise approx. 1.8 m. Anchorages:
Immediately in front of the harbor entrance northeast of the buoy line is a mooring field and a very sheltered and picturesque anchorage can be found 2 nm southwest in Lejre Vig at a water depth of 2 m.

Surroundings

The well-kept, small marina offers the usual facilities and a nice clubhouse. In the village of Herslev, 700 m away, you can buy the essentials.

NV Land Guide

You won't end up here by chance. The small harbor is too hidden in the southwestern tip of the Roskildefjord. Its remoteness is also the best guarantee that those who sail to Herslev have peace and quiet and only have to share the "small, intact world" with a few guest moorings.

There is only one building directly on the harbor, the beautiful clubhouse with shower and toilet. There are also only a few houses lining the road to the village one kilometer to the south. The village of Herslev is a rare gem - with pretty half-timbered and thatched houses, a church worth seeing, a Kro, a store, a village pond to the south and even a petrol station. The oldest parts of the church probably date from the 14th century, the wall paintings from around 1500. The tower and chapel were added in the 17th century. The jewel in the crown is the pulpit from 1615.

Excursions to Vesterskov (four kilometers) and Bøgnæs Storskov (five kilometers) are recommended. The path to the two forests on the rugged peninsula northeast of the harbor branches off sharply to the left at the entrance to Herslev. The clearings in the woods offer excellent views of the Roskildefjord. With good folding bikes, you can also take a trip to Roskilde, nine kilometers away.
