Description

Marina Wendtorf is a large marina on the northeast shore of the Kiel Fjord, right next to the Bottsand nature reserve. There is also a museum and fishing pier.

Navigation

The approach is possible day and night. A 3.5m (target depth) deep, buoyed and lighted channel leads into the marina. When entering the harbor, be aware of lateral silting within the marker piles. These are marked by additional lighted buoys. It is recommended to stay in the center of the buoyed channel. In stronger onshore winds, there is a bottom sea in the channel.

Caution: Because of silting, you should keep as much as possible in the buoy-marked center of the fairway, since the piles as channel boundaries are partly in shallow water. The northeast adjacent nature conservation exclusion zone immediately before Bottsand may not be navigated.

In onshore winds, there is an unpleasant bottom sea in the channel.

Berths

The port has been modernized in recent years and has new jetties for ships up to 20m in length and 3m draft.

MUSEUM PORT PROBSTEI:
The museum jetty is reserved for museum ships. Only passenger ships are allowed to dock at the promenade.

Surroundings

There are two barbecue areas, fresh fish from the fisherman, harbor cafes, bakery and bicycle rental.
Guests have access to a floating harbor sauna. Shipyard service with crane, slip and yacht equipment is available. Wi-Fi is available for a fee.

On the occasion of the 1972 Olympic Games the protected lagoon once located in a lonely landscape between Bottsand and Barsbek Lake was flushed out to become an area for a vacation center with a marina. The former accommodations for sportsmen were renovated, modernized and supplemented with new, attractive elements. Wendtorf proper, with a small spa park and beach west of the marina, is about a kilometer inland and also offers shopping facilities. It has about 1,000 inhabitants. In the season, the long, shallow beach in front of the steep coast of Stein is very popular with kite surfers.

The Marina Wendtorf was thoroughly renovated in the winter of 2014/15 and offers over 850 berths on modern barrier-free pontoons for ships up to 20 m and 3 m draft. Even during the high season, there are plenty of free berths for guests.

Two kilometers to the north, a camping site has been established at the Wendtorfer Schleuse. From the Wendtorf marina, it is possible to take part in guided tours of the Bottsand nature reserve and bird sanctuary. Particularly worth mentioning is the long sandy beach and the newly created shore line with viewing promenade and museum harbor. By bike (rental on site) or on foot you can explore the beautiful cultural landscape of the Probstei and the long beach at the Baltic Sea on bike and hiking trails. Especially the footpath to Laboe 4km away along the steep coast is highly recommended.
About 20 minutes takes the walk along the beautiful Baltic coast to Laboe. Here a visit to the naval memorial and the museum submarine is recommended. (See Laboe S2/2).

In the near vicinity you will find a sailing and surfing school and for the little ones there is the children's adventure land in the village of Wendtorf at a distance of 500m.

The MUSEUMSHAFEN PROBSTEI was built in 2007 by the non-profit association for the appreciation of traditional sailing and coastal culture with financial support from the Office for Rural Areas. The association of the same name operates the port and organizes annually various activities to keep alive traditional sailing vessels, crafts and coastal culture and bring them closer to the interested public.

Hälfte der Damenduschen defekt. Die anderen ungeheizt. Lotterie bei der Liegeplatzbreite. Alles ok. Aber nicht für 39€ Liegeplatzgebühr (12m). 2 Sterne wegen Hafenmeisterei, Imbiss und Ahoj-Rest.

Eine einzige Baustelle. Der Kassenautomat funktioniert nicht. Das W-Lan Netz auch nicht. Wer es gerne rustikal mag, ist hier richtig. Die Toiletten sind nur provisorisch, dafür aber ganz gut. Schade eigentlich.

Der "Beschreibung" des Hafens und der Infrastruktur kann man nichts hinzufügen und schon mal gar nichts korrigieren. Ein Stern weil die Hafemeisterei nett und freundlich ist. Die Website der Marina scheint mehr ein Plan zu sein, wie es mal sein könnte....

Bin Dauerlieger in Wendtorf. Die Toiletten in Containern sind immer sehr sauber und ich hatte auch noch nie Probleme eine freie zu finden. Es gibt zwei Imbisse und einen Fischkutter mit sehr leckeren Fischbrötchen. Die Hafenmeister sind sehr freundlich und aufmerksam und passen die Länge der Festmacheleinen bei veränderlichen Wasserständen schon mal an. Zu bemängeln hätte ich nur die versandete Fahrrinne, die nur mal sporsdisch nachgebaggert wird und die Bautätigkeit, auf die der Betreiber natürlich keinen Einfluss hat.

Aster Ples, Vågskärare Landschaftlich schön gelegegener Hafen, Versorgungsmöglichkeit beim gut ausgestattetem Bäcker um die Ecke oder beim Edeka im nächsten Ort(ca. 2Km). 200m vom Hafen entfernt gibt's Fisch vom Kutter. Saubere sanitäranlagen und das netteste Hafenperonal das mir bisher begegnet ist. Ein Hafen den ich immer wieder gern anlaufen werde.

Großzügiger Hafen, aber nichts drum herum. Nichts sehenswertes, nicht besonders sauber, alles in die Jahre gekommen. Wenn der strategische Ausgangspunkt nicht gewesen wäre, wären gleich umgedreht.

Der Yachthafen hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Neben den typischen Annehmlichkeiten gibt es zahlreiche Grillplätze, die sehr gepflegt und sauber sind. Fussläufig ist außerdem ein gut sortierter Edeka, ein kleiner, aber sehr schöner Strandabschnitt und der Hund kommt durch die langläufigen Grünflächen auch auf seine Kosten.
