NV Cruising Guide

Navigation

The harbour can also be approached at night. The inner fairway past Gullholmen is well lit, but narrow. However, the sector of the fire is also narrow, so it is easy to find the fairway. Note that the lights (Tvestjärten, Strömholmen, Råön) are half-sector lights, i.e. their sectors only apply to one side of the fairway. In the fairway before the harbour entrance, the current usually sets northwards, but it can change and be strong at the narrowest part.

Berths

50 boats can berth in front of stern buoys or ground tackle with the stern at the bridge. Upon instruction of the harbour master you can also moor on other free places. Water depth 2 - 5 m. The harbour is very sheltered, only in southeasterly winds there may be some swell. The current in the harbour is small and mostly sets northwards.

Surroundings

Gullholmen is Sweden's oldest fishing village and was also the largest until 1900. Today it is primarily a tourist and holiday resort with interesting architecture and a museum. Away from the built-up areas, Härmanö is a nature reserve with varied fauna and flora. There are even deer here. The southern part is a bit inaccessible, but the archipelago nature there is great. You can find bathing cliffs and stretches of beach. The harbour is very popular and therefore well frequented. It can therefore occasionally be crowded.
