Description

Picturesque, tide-free harbor and town with a large fleet of cutters. However, the town is very touristy on land.

The port of Greetsiel, which has been tidal-free since the construction of the barrier, can be reached from the north via the buoyed Greetsieler Legde fairway. In the last approx. 0.6 nm before the lock, the fairway of the Leyhörner Außentief, which is marked with pricks, is protected on both sides by breakwaters, water depth 1.8 m. The approach to the lock outer harbor is also equipped with a sector light. In the outer harbor there is a waiting lock for the lock.

The lock times depend on the Norderney tide.

South of the lock you can lie on the piles for waiting times.
The port of Greetsiel itself can then be reached via the approx. 4sm long, designated fairway, through the reservoir.
The water depth is 2.5- 3m and the maximum speed is 5kn.

Berths

Guests will find two mooring options:
In the Yachtclub-Greetsiel you can moor on the outside of the club harbor at a water depth of approx. 2m.
Or in the boat harbor of the Leybucht-Sportboot e.V. on free places.

Surroundings

Probably the most beautiful harbor on the Frisian coast is very touristy, but also offers other supply options such as groceries or other chic stores.
