Sukosan is located in the natural bay Zlatna Luka. The entrance is protected on both sides by piers. The largest marina in Croatia, Marina Dalmacija, with its 1200 berths lies in the northern part of the bay and offers all marina services.
Yachts enter the marina to the west of the crescent-shaped island with the beach, called the lagoon. Charter boats in the NW section. Private yachts and guests are moored in the east, north of the island. The harbormaster distributes the places - stern to the jetty and a mooring line at the bow.
There is the option of mooring at the long old town pier to the south, using stern anchor. Or make use of mooring buoys east of the marina or north of the old town.
The landmark of Sukošan is the ruins of the archiepiscopal summer residence Palac, which was built at the end of the 15th century in the middle of Zlatna Luka (Golden Harbour) on an artificially raised island. Other sights include the church (17th century) in the old town of Sukošan directly opposite the town gate Gornja Vrata. Many other ruins indicate that the bay of Zlatna Luka was a popular place even in Roman times: ruins of the rustic villa of Barbir visible in the water, an Illyrian fortress in Vrčevo and the old Roman water pipes. The place was first mentioned in writing in 1289.
