Description

For the "Staande Mastroute" report by VHF to the bridge keeper, he will then let you through and you wait in front of the railway bridge for the onward journey in the convoy.

Most of the year you can sail to Amsterdam with a standing mast at night. The Standing Mast route is available for ships that have a height of more than six meters.

Standing Mast route from the IJ (north side)

Register at the Westerkeersluis (lock) until 23:00.

Wait for the railway bridge on starboard side and listen to channel 69 (VHF). Between 00.00 and 02.30 hours the railway bridge (the Singelgrachtspoorbrug) is operated.  Then you cross the Kostverlorenvaart towards the south. Along the way you pass nine bridges opened in front of you.

At the Nieuwe Meersluis the public and railway bridges (the Schinkelbruggen) will open for you. In most cases, around 4:00 you will find the Standing Mast route and find yourself on the Nieuwe Meer You can call the Nieuwe Meersluis or the Westerkeersluis on the VHF call channel 22.

The intermediate bridges in the city are accessible via VHF block channel 69.

If VHF 22 doesn’t answer try VHF 69

Westerkeersluisbrug wordt niet voor 07.00 geopend!! Terwijl overal staat vermeld van 00.00 tot 07.00. Volgens de brugwachter is dat niet juist. Ook oproepen VHF 22 worden niet beantwoordwordt. Dit geldt ook bij de Nieuwe Meersluis. Ook mede vaargenoten geven dit aan!
