The approach to the Este is via the buoyed fairway of the Mühlenberger Loch and the passage of the Estesperrwerk. The operating hours of the barrage and the bridge are daily from 06:00h to 22:00h. Opening during the operating hours: The operation of the facility takes place after prior notification at the outer barrage Estemündung in each case at the full hour. Registrations for operation must be made at least one hour before the desired opening time. "Este Loch" VHF 10 or telephone +49 40 42847 7011. The opening of the roller bridge at the inner barrage is controlled by the outer barrage. The water depth of the Este in the estuary area is 4.5m at MHW.

Berths

The tidal floating jetties fall mostly dry the bottom is however soft silt, and therefore usable for moderate keelboats.
