Local marina of the "Egense Sejlklub", on the southern shore of the Limfjord east exit opposite Hals.

Navigation

Accessing the unlit harbor is only recommended during the day. A concrete dredging channel with a target depth of 2 m leads from the approach buoy close to the Limfjord fairway into the port. The dredged channel is also marked with a pair of beacons.

Berths

Guests moor in free boxes and consult with the harbor master. The water depth is approx. 2m. The ferry dock north of the harbor may not be used by yachts.

Anchorage:
Southeast of the harbor, behind the small island of Korsholm, there is a sheltered anchorage at a water depth of 3-4 meters. Mooring buoys from the Danish Sailing Association are also occasionally available here. The anchorage is approached at 170° from the Egense approach.

Surroundings

300 m from the harbor is a campsite with shops and a coin-operated laundry. Further amenities can be found in the village of Hals opposite, which can be reached quickly by ferry.

NV Land Guide

Egense - formerly the customs harbor of Hals - is mainly a harbor used by locals. The harbor is not necessarily recommended due to its rather mediocre supply options, even though the artificial lagoon next to the harbor is an excellent playground for youngsters and is far less busy than Hals opposite. If you manage to get a berth here, the fast ferry connection to the north shore offers variety and access to the good supply situation in Hals.

While the harbour is surrounded by weekend houses, the village of Egense is located one kilometer south of the harbour. Worthwhile excursion destinations are few and far between, but a hike south along the coast is recommended. On the right-hand side of the route, after four kilometers, is "Lille Vildmose", one of Denmark's largest moors. From the 48 meter high "Mulbjergene" you can see both the Kattegat coast and the moor. The elevations are located near Dokkedal, four kilometers south of Egense.
