NV Land Guide
Only a few houses surround the Bøjden Bridge in the south of Fyn's west coast. The jetty is frequented by a few recreational boaters who are willing to forgo warm showers and good supplies. Yachts are not allowed to moor at the Bøjden ferry terminal southwest of the bridge.
The scenery lends itself mainly to walking, with a one-hour or so walk to Horne Church worthwhile. It is Fyn's only round church, built around 1100 as a fortified church. Today, the round church, which once stood on its own, is only part of a building that has been extended over the centuries. It is integrated into a nave in such a way that it is difficult to recognise it as the original round church. The former fortress-like building was supposed to protect against the raids of the Wendish pirates. The unique church is situated on a hill and offers a wide panoramic view over the Fyn mountains and the South Fyn Archipelago.
Shopping is available at the campsite 800m east of the harbour. There is a connection from Bøjden ferry harbour to Fynshav on Als.
