Description

Hörnum is a popular holiday resort on the island of Sylt. In the northern part of the harbour, the Sylt Yacht Club operates a small marina.There are 80 berths in the harbour on floating pontoons for permanent and guest berth holders. Occupied berths are marked with red signs. Guest berths are also available on the east side of the central jetty. Furthermore, berths 15, 16,17, 18 on the west jetty (below the clubhouse) are also for guest use.

The harbour of Hörnum should be approached via the buoyed but poorly lit "Vortrapptief", by those unfamiliar with the area, however, only during daylight. In strong or stormy westerly winds, the sea breaks on the offshore banks and also in the fairway.

Freundlich, sauber und sehr familiär. Der Hafenmeister mit Mikrophone und guter Tonanlage gibt klare Anweisungen. Ein kurzer Anruf vorab hilft beim Einlaufen.

Der Hafen hat zwar nur wenige Gastliegeplätze, meist im Päckchen, aber es kommen auch nicht viele Segler so weit in den Norden. Die Sanitäreinrichtung ist der Hammer, so etwas habe ich zuhause nicht. Allerdings ist die Insel im Sommer unangenehm voll, so das wir schon nach zwei Tagen wieder nach Amrum zurückgekehrt sind.

Es war ordentlich Wind und ein freundlicher Hafenmeister weist und über Lautsprecher ein und nimmt Leinen an. Die Clubanlage ist bester Standard. Durch die Muschelfischerei ist viel Betrieb, der aber nicht stört.
