From 07.05.2024 until probably 16.06.2024, the Ems-Jade Canal in
Wilhelmshaven will be closed to shipping and boat traffic due to
the suspension of the dyke bridge and subsequent
adjustment/installation work.
Ems-Jade Canal
The Ems-Jade Canal provides the connection between the Jade Bay and the Ems inland. With a length of 72.3 km, it is a state waterway and is operated by the Lower Saxony Water Management, Coastal Defence and Nature Conservation Agency (NLWKN). The maximum permitted speed is 8 km/h, the clearance height at normal water level is 3.80 m and the maximum unloading depth is 1.7 m.
