Lower Havel waterway
AT 2.5m Spandau to Plaue, 2.3m* from Plaue to Bahnitz lock, 2.1m* from Bahnitz lock to Rathenow suburban lock 1.5m* from Rathenow to Havelberg.
*From Plaue (km 66.7) to Havelberg the unloading depths depend on the fairway depths. The daily updated fairway depths are published daily at the responsible WSA's and at www.elwi.de.
DH 5.0 m Spandau to Havelberg
ZHG Untere-Havel-Waterway for pleasure craft 12km/h. Sailing is
only allowed on lake stretches (over 40m wide). (commercial
shipping max. 9 km/h).
ZHG On lakes over 200 m wide, the bank protection rule applies; 25
km/h outside and 12 km/h inside a 100m wide bank protection
zone.

Reference level for the Kleiner Wannsee, Griebnitzkanal,
Griebnitzsee and Teltowkanal up to Kleinmachnow is the Kleinmachnow
lower level: MW=247 cm, Tel. 033203-19428
Speed regulations for small craft and pleasure boats:
Unless further restricted by signage, there is a maximum permitted
speed of 12 km/h throughout the main fairway of the Lower Havel
Waterway between km 0.0 and km 156.7.
Protective strip regulation:
On lakes and lake-like widenings over 250m width of the Lower Havel
Waterway outside a 100m wide, parallel to the shore running
protective strip 25 km/h, inside 12 km/h.
Exceptions are, despite their width, the Kladower lake section from
km 13.0 (Schwemmhorn) to km 15.5 (beacon Meedehorn) and the Havel
Nebenarm south of the Pfaueninsel. Here, only 12 km/h may be
driven.
In the Sacrower- and Scharfen Lanke, as well as in the Lehnitz- and
Krampnitzsee, there is also a night driving ban for motor-driven
vehicles between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m.

Potsdamer Havel: 12 km/h.
Ketziner Havel: 9 km/h.
Brandenburger Stadthavel, Niederhavel and Rathenower Havel: 8

In addition to the general speed regulation, there may be further
restrictions locally at narrow places, jetties, marinas,
construction sites or danger points. Attention should be paid to
shore signs and indications on buoys. It is often controlled and
asked for transgressions sensitive to the cash!
