The 420ha "Dragon Island" is 6km long and on the highest mountain the 375m high "Na Popia" stands a historical lighthouse.
The rocky island is covered with maquis and there are 361 different plant species. A paradise for rare birds - coral gulls, Eleonora's hawks and velvet-headed warblers, various small animals, such as lizards and the wall lizard, which is found only here. Bats are represented with 5 species but they are the only mammals that live in parks.
The surrounding marine area is also part of the park with fauna and fauna representative of the western Mediterranean. Particularly important is the "Posidonia oceanica" - Neptune grass - a seagrass species that forms large underwater meadows and refuges for countless marine animals and coral communities and is therefore an important component of the ecosystem. The fibrous "neptune fruits" float and are also found on the beach, known as the "olive of the sea."
