The Havel River winds its way picturesquely from Fürstenberg/Havel towards Berlin. The bathing area, located directly in front of the lock in the boating village of Bredereiche, is an ideal stop for water travelers. Depending on how you are traveling, there are moorings for houseboats, or you can easily pull paddle boats out of the water on the flat shore. Once you arrive here, you can relax on the lawn or use the covered seating areas for a break. It is also a good starting point for exploring the tranquil village and its surroundings on foot. The place name "Bredereiche" is unique in Germany and probably derives from "Bredereyke," which roughly means "broad, thick oak." The village's landmark, an ancient oak tree, can be found on the side of the road between Bredereiche and Himmelpfort. The small church, built in 1689 in the typical half-timbered style of the Mark Brandenburg, is also well worth seeing. Inside, two traditional boats belonging to the boatmen's association remind us of Bredereiche's past as a boatmen's village.

Der Hafen ist unterteilt in einen städtischen und einen Teil der zur Gaststätte gehört. Wir lagen in der Bucht im städtischen Teil, hier kommt ein Verantwortlicher welcher die geringe Gebühr kassiert. Strom und Wasser gibt es günstig am Automaten.

Der Hafen ist sehr Ruhig gelegen. Bezahlt wird im Restaurant Bootshaus (ca. 200 m) Ein kleiner Laden für Lebensmittel liegt ca. 500 m entfernt. Ein Badestrand und ein Spielplatz ist auch vorhanden.
