Description

The village of Smokvica is located on the south side of the island of Korčula with a pleasant climate, protected from the Burast, the cold north wind.

The village of Smokvica was built on the island ridge in the 15th-16th century Slavic tribes from the mainland fled from the Ottoman attacks and pirates.
Worth seeing are the ruins from Illyrian times and the parish church of the place (17th century).
