The approach is possible at any time of day without any problems. Coming from the northern Stralasund, one should pay attention to the shallow (1 m) Trendel, which is located somewhat to the north and is marked with a west cardinal buoy.

Berths

In the newly built harbor, berths on finger piers are designed for more than 100 yachts.

Can be a bit choppy in onshore winds.

Surroundings

All the basic utilities of a modern port are available.

The Swedish Redoubt, located south of the new harbor on the level of the small fishing boat harbor, was formerly a fortification area for the protection of Stralsund during the Prussian-French War.

Only a few wall remains of the so-called "Pomeranian Battery" are left from that time. This was intended to defend the coast against enemy ships and protect the northern section of the city. Temporarily renamed the "Pomeranian Redoubt", the name was changed to "Swedish Redoubt" in 1902. However, there is no reference to Sweden or the 30-year war. Before the turn of the century, the fortification began to be removed. In GDR times, a restaurant stood on the site.

Today, the ditch that once led around the fort is still recognizable. Remnants of the former ring position are recognizable under a lot of brushwood.
