The harbour entrance, which is open to the west, is lighted. North, west and south of the harbour entrance there are large stones at 2 - 3m water depth.

In strong winds from northerly directions, entry for yachts is not recommended.

Glowe Port can be reached on VHF channel 72.

Berths

Guests can berth at the first two bridges at a water depth of approx. 2.7 m. The places for fishing are to be kept free or to be discussed with the harbour master.

Surroundings

The proximity to the Jasmund National Park and the beaches of Tromper Wiek makes the port attractive. Extensive hiking or cycling tours are recommended.

NV Land Guide

The water hiking rest area Glowe is located in scenic surroundings at the eastern end of the "Schaabe", a spit between the peninsulas Jasmund and Wittow. A fantastic bathing beach with very fine sand stretches along the Tromper Wiek. It is named after the Dutch admiral Cornelius Tromp, who in 1678, as commander of the Brandenburg fleet, was able to drive the Swedes from Rügen with Danish support.

Extensive hikes or bike tours with charming alternations between the sea and the Bodden side offer themselves. Bicycles can be rented in the village of Glowe. Spyker See is located in the middle of a nature reserve. If you follow the hiking trail running through the area, you will come to Spyker Castle, which is now used as a hotel complex. In addition to the hotel, there are also cultural events and a sculpture park. In the district of Bobbin, the 600-year-old church of St. Pauli is worth a visit. It is the only preserved fieldstone church on Rügen.

The DGzRS rescue boat KURT HOFFMANN is stationed in the port of Glowe.
