FEJØ HAVN (DYBVIG HAVN):
The fairways around Fejø are unlit. The approach to the harbor, despite its leading lights, is recommended only during the daytime
To the harbor leads a buoyed dredging channel (target depth 3.1m), which tends strongly to silting up. Water depths around 2.6m are to be expected.

One lies in the inner harbor at 1.5 - 2.5m or in the western part of the harbor at 2.5 - 3m water depth. The harbor is often crowded in the season.

The island port Dybvig is much more popular than the ferry port Vesterby, from which ferries depart several times a day to Kragenæs on Lolland. Dybvig is cozier and offers more space. At the ports are also the two villages of the island, Østerby and Vesterby.

In the island brochure, the attachment of the inhabitants of Fejø to the old values and professions is emphasized, but at the same time regrets that it is bad for the traditional professions of fruit farmer, fisherman or boat builder. This was quite different at the end of the 19th century, when the harbor was built. Pear barges with shallow drafts built in Fejø were known beyond the borders of the Småland fairway. Their cargo had an equally good reputation. The barges transported fruit from the island's once extensive plantations all the way to Copenhagen. In the meantime, many of the orchards have fallen victim to the power saw and shipbuilding has almost come to a complete standstill. To counteract the island's further economic and cultural decline, the islands in the Småland fairway joined together in 1974 to form an island community, which the inhabitants of Fejø helped to found with particular vigor. Since then the subsidies from Copenhagen flow more generously, but the 700 inhabitants counting island looks still sleepy, which has quite something for itself.

On the way of Dybvig to the place one comes at the place entrance at the old island smithy past. The church originating from the time around 1200, the island museum in the basement of the school, the memorial stone to the great storm surge of 1872 (on the north beach) and a few neat half-timbered houses are sights of the island. Fejø is connected to the neighboring island Skalø, which is especially interesting for ornithologists, by a dam (see Skalø). The hotel Landbolyst in Østerby (corner Heredsvej/Andemosevej) is at the same time a renowned restaurant.

Water depths are much less than given in the chart. The west pier is only about 1-1.5m almost everywhere. So for sailing yachts many less places than assumed.
