Large modern marina on the southern outskirts of the well-known seaside resort of Grömitz.

NV Cruising Guide

Navigation

With its many high-rise buildings and the pier, the approach to the fired harbour is unproblematic day and night. However, between Dahmeshöved and Pelzerhaken there are some stones in the shallow water area close to shore. With a northwesterly course, one steers towards the fired pier heads.

Berths

Guest boats lie on free places (red/green signs) on 2 - 3m water depth. The place of the rescue cruiser must remain free.

Surroundings

In the Baltic resort of Grömitz, apart from many tourist attractions, you will find quite good supply possibilities, some of them even directly at the marina (food, yacht equipment). Further shopping facilities can be found in the centre of Grömitz, which is approx. 1 km away.

Entertainment and beach life, these are the two legs on which the tourism of the Baltic resort Grömitz stands. From the gym to the babysitting service to the solarium, the place offers everything the heart of the holidaymaker desires: hotels, holiday homes, restaurants, mini golf courses, beach chair rentals, a surf bath, an open-air seawater pool, spa facilities of all kinds and so on and so forth. A certain agreement with the offer of other beach resorts is probably in the nature of the thing, if one also set in Grömitz with emphasis on the family vacation.

The house of the health resort guest at the health resort promenade waits with reading, writing and television rooms as well as a play rental and a library on, the bath center likewise convenient at the health resort promenade with a public sauna on. You can get a first impression of Grömitz as a passenger on the beach train "Rasender Benno", which constantly makes its rounds.

The spa promenade begins right at the marina. If you turn left into Strandallee after about 300 metres, you will reach the Kurpark with the pheasant area after another 100 metres. Continuing north, the path leads past the market into Mühlenstraße, at the end of which is the Baltic resort's small zoo, which is well worth seeing. Aptly named "Noah's Ark", it has a petting farm for children.

A visit to Cismar Monastery, founded 750 years ago as a kind of penal colony, four kilometres north of the Baltic resort, is recommended. The Lübeck city council no longer wanted to watch the unchristian goings-on of the Benedictine monks and forcibly transferred them to Cismar. The monks, who - contrary to their religious mission - did not take wine, women and song too seriously, then built the largest monastery complex in Schleswig-Holstein outside Lübeck at their "place of banishment" - as if in defiance. It became an intellectual and economic centre, but partly fell into disrepair after the Reformation. Elaborately restored, the monastery is now used as a museum. Around the building, artists have settled who devote themselves to painting, pottery and the old art of writing. Every year on the second weekend in August, a three-day monastery festival is held here. In the "Little House of Nature", behind the monastery, a unique collection of shells and snails can be admired. Bird taxidermy is also part of the impressive exhibition, which is definitely worth a visit.

The nudist beach Lensterstrand is four kilometres north of Grömitz, where there is also a huge camping area.

Directly at the marina, a small supermarket, a restaurant (reservations are recommended for the evening during the high season) and the ship chandlery of the Ringwerft shipyard ensure a good supply situation, the shipyard itself stands a few metres inland. Only a few 100 m in the direction of the village there is another restaurant.

In Grömitz the rescue cruiser "Hans Hackmack" is stationed.

Toller Hafen, netter neuer Hafenmeister. Auch die Sanitäranlagen sind neu und sehr geräumig. Alles was man braucht ist fußläufig. Wir kommen gerne wieder.
