The buoyed fairway leads from buoy "H 6/Wikinghafen 2" to the south lit pier head. Deep-drafting yachts should keep a little clear here, as the pier head s slightly silted up. The southern part of the first bridge has a little more water depth.

Berths

Enough guest seats on the eastern breakwater at 2.4m water depth.

Surroundings

All utilities incl. marina service. The Viking marina is 500 m away from the Landesmuseum Schloß Gottorf.

NV Land Guide

This marina is more inconveniently located to Schleswig's city centre than the more northerly harbour of the cathedral city. But it offers all kinds of comfort. The Friedrichsberg district to the south-west of the Viking harbour offers a wide range of shops and amenities.

In the middle of the marina is the Viking residential tower, a strikingly ugly building, which nevertheless offers a wide view of the city and the Schlei from the restaurant. Two sailing clubs and a sailing school have their moorings here. The north-west jetty outside the harbour belongs to a well-known charter company.

It's not far from the Wiking harbour to Gottorf Castle, the important state museum of prehistory and early history (see also Schleswig). Just as close is the town museum of Schleswig. If you go there from the harbour, you will pass the building of the higher regional court of Schleswig-Holstein. The building, originally erected between 1875 and 1878 for the Prussian government, is also called the "Red Elephant" because of its massive shape.
