The approach to the lit harbour is possible day and night. However, for the approach at night through the unlit Fænø Sund from the north, you need favourable light conditions. Nordstrom sets very hard across the entrance at times.

Surroundings

At the marina there are basic supplies at the kiosk, a café, restaurant, fuel, 30t crane and comfortable sanitary facilities. Further supply possibilities in the approx. 2km distant center of Middelfart.

On the south pier in the area of the gas station new sauna, at present however only for members of the local sailing club.

This large, modern marina on the picturesque Fænøsund is much quieter than the moorings at Gammelhavn or Nyhavn 1/2, which are closer to the city and can be found further north directly on Snævringen. The service centre offers the crew a number of amenities (e.g. family bathrooms and laundry). Bathing beach and golf course are in the immediate vicinity. Boat service is also available on site, there is diesel, marine shop and sailmaking.

A beautiful view is offered across the sound to the island of Fænø. The 400-hectare island is privately owned and may only be entered with permission. It houses a conference facility, several exclusive guesthouses and a gourmet restaurant. The unique nature has been under special protection since 1992. Formerly agriculturally used terrain areas were reforested.

After a hike of about 3km - from the harbour in a west-northwest direction along the sound - you reach Hindsgavl Castle with its worth seeing park. Dogs must always be kept on a lead throughout the peninsula.

The opportunity for a walk of a special kind is offered, uniquely in Europe, by Bridgewalking Lillebælt. As part of a two-hour group tour (booking required), you'll be taken to lofty heights of up to 60m high above the Little Belt. It's a stomach-churning experience - and not just when the railway rumbles over the structure below.

The distance to the city centre, north of the marina, is a good two kilometres.
